Join us on July 13 for an exciting hands-on workshop, " A Beginner's Guide to Mead Making," led by Eric Baxter from Baxter's Bees.  Eric's expertise in Mead making has earned him several awards in local competitions, and now he is ready to share his secrets with you!

In this workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of crafting your own Mead, from selecting ingredients to fermentation techniques. Each participant will receive a complete setup kit to get started on their mead-making journey.

What You'll Need:

  • 3 lbs of honey (participants can bring their own or purchase the honey option with their ticket)
  • If you wish to create a fruit-flavored mead, bring 3 lbs of frozen fruit or natural fruit juice (no added preservatives, sugar, flavors, or any other ingredients).
  • One 5-gallon bucket to safely carry Mead bottle home after the Workshop
  • Large towel

What You'll Learn:

  • The basics of mead making
  • How to select and prepare ingredients
  • Fermentation processes and techniques
  • Tips for crafting delicious, award-winning mead

Each full-price participant will receive a complete Mead Kit that includes:

  • One Gallon Jar
  • Lid for Gallon Jar w/Grommet
  • Airlock
  • Auto Siphon
  • Tubing
  • Yeast
  • Water

Ticket Information:

  • PBCBA Full Price Ticket: Includes one mead-making kit for the class.
    • Add-On Option: Bring an extra person for a small additional fee. Please note that this option includes only one mead-making kit to be shared with full-price ticket.
  • Non-Member Full Price Ticket:  Includes one mead-making kit for the class AND a 1 year membership to PBCBA.
      • Add-On Option: Bring an extra person for a small additional fee. Please note that this option includes only one mead-making kit to be shared with full-price ticket.
  • 3 lbs of Honey -  bring your own honey, or buy the honey during the event check out process.  After selecting the ticket option, you will be prompted to add the honey as an add-on.  Select that option if you will not bring your own honey.
