Erin MacGregor-Forbes is an EAS certified Master Beekeeper, past Chairman of the Eastern Apicultural Society and the Chief Financial and Operating Officer at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. She manages about 150 colonies near her home in Portland Maine as Overland Apiaires.
Erin speaks nationally on a variety of beekeeping topics particularly focused on small and mid-scale sustainable beekeeping practices.
Erin’s teaches practical and sustainable colony management, IPM strategies, and overwintering nucleus colonies. Erin’s passion is working with the bees own instincts and behaviors to create thriving colonies, and communicating those concepts to beekeepers who want to help their colonies maximize their potential.
She has received three grants from the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) to compare honey bee colony strength and survivability between nucleus and package started colonies.
