Dr. Vetaley Stashenko, Ph.D., ND, RN started teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in 1979, but his beekeeping career dates back to 1965. He co-founded the sole beekeeping department (unique to the entire globe) at Ukraine National University of Life, Ukraine, where he spent more than 15 years supervising more than 200 Master's degree students and teaching graduate students in a range of apicultural disciplines. He currently holds the position of Professor of Biology at Palm Beach State College and is focusing his research on the impact of raw honey on the functionality/ microbiome of the digestive system as well as skin cytology. Dr. Stashenko holds four patents related to overwintering bee colonies, bee venom production, and artificial insemination of bee queens and has published 69 peer-reviewed paper
